Mountain West Church is seeking a Children’s Pastor.

Purpose of the Role:
The Director of Elementary Ministries will provide effective Christ-like leadership to Birth – 5th-grade students, Hope Team members, and parents. To both grow the ministry spiritually and numerically in keeping with the mission and vision of Mountain West Church. The Elementary Director has four main objectives:

1: Families are connecting
2: Kids are growing |
3: Kids are having fun
4: Parents are equipped

Experience and Knowledge Required:
• Passion for hope, people, and the calling of God
• Ability to build and lead teams effectively
• Organizational, practical, and goal-oriented leadership
• Passion for learning and excitement to learn through experience
• Pastoral, discerning, and confident leadership
• A love and calling toward ministry to children and families
• Solid theological grounding and creativity in kids’ ministry curriculum development.
• Basic knowledge of the ministry’s production needs
• Biblical knowledge to communicate its teaching and lessons
• Flexibility and team-player mentality: you may be required to do things outside of your department
• Ability to think and act independently with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
• Must be a strong communicator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create, analyze and maintain project budgets

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead Children Ministry Teams on Sundays and Wednesdays and special events
• Manage ministry curriculum for both large groups and small groups
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe ministry environments
• Execute family and kids’ events to foster growth in both kids and families
• Provide pastoral care for kids and parents through cards, calls, and follow up
• Lead effective training to grow and develop Hope Team (Volunteer leaders)
• Ensure that systems and structures are in place for MW to help kids take their next steps
• Maintain a balanced ministry budget annually

Education and Experience
• Three years of children’s ministry experience
• Bachelors or experiences equivalent
