The Lexington Church of God in Lexington, S.C. is seeking a full time Director of Discipleship and Assimilation:

POSITION PURPOSE
The role of the Director of Discipleship & Assimilation is to oversee the connection and spiritual growth strategy of the Lexington Church of God (LCOG) under the direction and leadership of the Senior Pastor. To be intentional about getting people more connected in relationships, discipleship, and engaged in the ministry of LCOG and in our community. The Director of Discipleship & Assimilation (DDA) main focus: connecting people to groups, classes, discipleship opportunities & serving. The DDA also ensures all volunteers and discipleship ministries are equipped and trained.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The DDA will lead church family to a genuine sense of belonging, involvement and spiritual growth at the LCOG by meeting people where they are and leading them to their next steps. The DDA will facilitate relational connection and spiritual growth through guest services, groups, volunteer teams, and assimilation of new members.

The duties shall include (but are not limited to) the following:

ASSIMILATION
 Developing, implementing, and sustaining an intentional and comprehensive strategy for helping new and existing members get connected to Jesus and our church family.
o This may include, but not be limited to: -Connecting with our on-line congregation -Expanding our on-line presence
 Host connection events and opportunities to assimilate new and existing members
 Create and oversee a team that will follow up with guests who are searching for a place to belong
 Develop an effective program that will make a connection between laity and ministry leaders.
 Create and keep updated a descriptive catalog of all ministries operating at LCOG.
 Create and keep updated a descriptive catalog of all volunteer positions available within the ministries of LCOG.
 Provide participants with practical information about their ministry gifts.
 Organize and coordinate “Meet the Staff” opportunities, events, luncheons, etc.
 Develop Attendance Tracking strategies.
 Develop, implement, and sustain an intentional and comprehensive strategy for recruiting, connecting, and training volunteers for all areas of ministry at LCOG

Guest Follow-Up
 Oversight of First Impressions / hospitality ministry(ies)
 Recruit and train volunteers to minister in 6-month follow-up program.
 Recruit and train 1st impressions / hospitality team(s).
 Create quarterly comparison reports for staff and leadership.
 Create Information Packets and make available as needed.

Discipleship
 Oversight of all Small Groups Ministries
 Developing a systematic and effective effort to generate interest in small groups (sign-up areas, brochures, stories, all-church promotions, webpage, etc).
 Create and distribute All church directory, annually and Staff/Leadership directory, quarterly.
 Create a “Professional Directory” section within the all church directory.
 Create weekly church bulletin.
 Create and make available a weekly publications / promotions / advertisement, etc.

EDUCATION OR CREDENTIAL PREREQUISITES:

This position requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate and a minimum of 5 years of appropriate experience. The candidate must have excellent people skills, communication skills, attitude skills and computer skills. They must be organized, accountable and faithful.
