Dorm Pastor— Job Description
Purpose: To promote health and restoration for the students at Runners Refuge Recovery Ranch, by implementing Biblical principles in all aspects of direct care. To teach and train our students how to properly manage a range of life’s situations, by modeling godliness in word, conduct and work ethic. To help directly meet the everyday needs of all residents in the home.
Requirements:
Ministerial Credentials (preferably Assemblies of God, Church of God (Cleveland TN), Pentecostal Church of God, or Foursquare) not required but encouraged to obtain.
A demonstrated Christian lifestyle in accordance to generally accepted best practices for Christian leaders.
Professional interpersonal skills are a must in representing the ministry and to successfully execute the myriad of duties as part of the job.
• Requires effective communication skills – oral and written are paramount in facilitating not only timely, accurate information, but a healthy “talk, trust, accountability, productivity and growth” atmosphere. A positive spirit and an attitude of flexibility is key.
• Proper time management skills are a critical component in successfully balancing the unavoidable issues of the day with scheduled activities and appointments.
• Valid Drivers License, Good Driving Record, and be insurable. Minimum 5 years sobriety.
Compensation:
This is a salaried 40 hour per week position with potential periods of over time. However the flexibility of the job allows also for frequent comp time so as to offset the overtime. Average core working hours are within the 8am to 5pm time slot.
Because availability is paramount the position requires the candidate live on site with students.
Duties include (but not limited to):
Oversee student schedule and all daily activities; provide mentoring and discipleship, as needed; Ensure safety of students; Overnight on call rotation; Oversee and monitor incoming and outgoing mail from students; Supervise student phone calls; Oversight of the home; Communicate maintenance needs; Oversee food program/meals, if needed; Other duties, as needed, per Program Director’s request’ Maintain confidentiality, per federal regulations.
