Smoky Mountain Children’s Home is looking for a Youth Pastor and/or Youth Ministers to lead a group of eight at-risk youth.
The responsibilities include preparing daily devotions, organizing recreational activities, helping youth learn coping skills, helping youth regulate their emotions, helping youth complete daily routines, coaching youth on daily living skills, and cooking meals with youth. The primary goal is to build a healthy relationship with youth while modeling the love of Christ.
Developing a healthy relationship is an evangelistic act. Smoky Mountain Children’s Home offers support for ministers seeking credentials in the Church of God. Smoky Mountain Children’s Home has local Pastors who are willing to mentor candidates. A two-year ministry and training experience at Smoky Mountain Children’s Home will prepare ministers to reach youth of different races, ethnicity, and cultural backgrounds. The minister will be prepared to respond to many emotional needs of at-risk youth. The minister will receive evidence-based training in crisis management, behavior management, parenting at-risk youth, communicating with at-risk youth, and facilitating group coherency.
